Professions
Social Care roles we recruit.
Social care hiring follows statutory caseload pressure, Ofsted and CQC inspection cycles and the constant challenge of covering vacant posts in children's services, adult safeguarding and hospital discharge teams. Local authorities frequently use interim cover while permanent recruitment runs in parallel.

Questions
Social Care jobs, answered.
- Do support worker roles require a qualification?
- Not always. Many support and residential roles are open to candidates with relevant experience, with the Care Certificate completed on or shortly after starting. Qualified social work roles require current regulator registration.
- Which DBS level do social care roles need?
- An enhanced DBS with the relevant barred list check for adults, children, or both depending on the service. A PVG scheme record is used in Scotland and an AccessNI check in Northern Ireland.
- Can temporary social care work become permanent?
- Yes. Many interim and temporary assignments convert to substantive posts, and we agree the terms for that with the employer before the assignment starts.
