Head of Therapeutic Services

This Head of Therapeutic Services role in South West England offers a permanent 30 hour per week contract with hybrid working options. You will provide strategic leadership for an established charity delivering specialist support to children and families affected by trauma. The position involves overseeing service quality, safeguarding and multidisciplinary team management to drive organisational growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across specialist therapeutic programmes and multiple services
• Act as the organisation Designated Safeguarding Lead overseeing all risk management and governance
• Manage and develop service managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high performance
• Monitor service outcomes, budgets and contractual delivery for commissioners and funders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to support business planning
• Lead service innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the charity

What you'll need

• Professional qualification in Psychotherapy, Counselling, Psychology or Arts Therapy
• Current professional registration or accreditation with HCPC, UKCP or BACP
• Significant leadership experience within therapeutic or specialist clinical support services
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and multi-agency safeguarding frameworks
• Proven experience managing budgets, contracts and leading other managers
• Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory for this regulated senior leadership position
