Locum Speech and Language Therapist (Term Time and Long Term)

A full-time Speech and Language Therapist locum position is available in Kingston upon Thames, South West London. This term-time role involves working across mainstream schools to deliver statutory clinical work and early intervention support within a well-established team. The contract offers potential for extension or transition into a permanent role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out formal speech and language assessments and complete detailed clinical reports for annual reviews
• Update Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and statutory plans for children across mainstream settings
• Collaborate with SENCOs and school staff to identify and prioritise children with communication needs
• Deliver universal and targeted early intervention programmes and signpost schools to appropriate resources
• Provide specialist training and demonstrate interventions to teaching assistants and school staff
• Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload independently across multiple school sites in the borough
• Support children through phased transitions, such as the move from primary to secondary school

What you'll need

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist (mandatory)
• Previous experience working within mainstream school environments or paediatric settings
• Strong understanding of the EHCP process and statutory education requirements
• Ability to travel independently between various school locations across Kingston Borough
• Confident in delivering training and modelling SLT programmes to education professionals
• Enhanced DBS clearance
