Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic healthcare team on a temporary basis. This locum position involves providing specialised therapy services to paediatric patients to help children develop essential life skills and improve their overall well-being within a collaborative clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of paediatric patients to identify occupational therapy needs and develop personalised treatment plans
• Deliver targeted therapy interventions to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and daily living activities
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including speech therapists and physiotherapists to coordinate holistic care
• Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust therapy strategies to ensure optimal outcomes and engagement
• Document all clinical activities thoroughly in accordance with hospital protocols and maintain accurate patient records
• Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques to support ongoing development outside of clinical sessions
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and best practices in paediatric occupational therapy

What you'll need

• Valid registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Proven experience working with paediatric populations in hospital or clinical settings
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to paediatric care
• Experience in critical care environments such as intensive care units or hospital wards is highly desirable
• Familiarity with case management principles and delivering patient-centred care
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and healthcare colleagues
• Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance
