Locum Mortuary Technician

Locum Mortuary Technician needed for a full-time contract role starting immediately. This position involves managing anatomical pathology records and coordinating sensitive bereavement services within a busy departmental environment. You will be joining a dedicated team focused on maintaining the highest standards of dignity and clinical governance for all deceased patients.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identities and maintain precise departmental documentation.
• Organise and oversee viewing sessions in line with professional protocols.
• Follow all COSHH, health and safety, and infection prevention mandates.
• Utilise specialised software for tracking and data management tasks.
• Assist with forensic examinations and post-mortem procedures as directed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information governance standards.

What you'll need

• Mandatory HCPC registration for the duration of the placement.
• Experience in a UK setting preferred.
• Current enhanced DBS certificate or equivalent police clearance.
• Valid right to work documentation including a passport or visa.
• Ability to commit to a full-time weekly rota of 37.5 hours.
• Previous experience within a forensic environment is advantageous.
