Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant for a full-time, term-time only position based in Kingston. This role involves supporting clinical interventions within mainstream schools to improve outcomes for children with speech and language needs. You will work closely with qualified therapists to deliver tailored support programmes.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of speech and language therapy interventions in mainstream school settings.
• Assist qualified Speech and Language Therapists in assessing children and young people.
• Prepare clinical resources and materials tailored to individual student needs.
• Liaise with teaching staff and parents to provide guidance on therapy activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical records of student progress and participation.
• Contribute to the monitoring and review of student therapy goals.

What you'll need

• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of speech, language, and communication needs in a mainstream school context.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills for school-based environments.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory for this regulated role.
